Yard Sale & Vendor Event @ the library

The Bridgeville Library is participating in the Bridgeville Town-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, September 27th from 7am-2pm by renting out spaces in our parking lot. If you are interested in renting a yard sale or a vendor spot in the library parking lot, please email: [email protected] or stop by the library. Cost: $20 for 3 parking spaces for a yard sale spot or $25 for 2 parking spaces for a vendor spot.

Impact Festival

The fourth annual IMPACT Festival will be held Saturday, September 6th, at the Bridgeville Public Library from 10am-2pm. Join us for a fun-filled day of positivity and good vibes with numerous food and craft vendors, an Adventure Park with 10+ inflatables and games, music, face painting, raffles and giveaways. Entry to the festival is free, with vendors and Adventure Park at a cost. Craft vendors will be indoors in the library. All proceeds benefit The Inspiring Project’s annual scholarships and donations to local charities. The first 200 to arrive will receive a free “cool” pair of sunglasses from the Bridgeville Library and Cascading Carlos will be performing at 12 noon!

Community Bridge to Wellness

Throughout the year, join the Bridgeville Library for our wellness journey-promoting mental and physical health by providing many different programs for everyone. All programs are FREE and all are welcome! Please check the flyers for details. Self-led walking groups on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Community Health Worker- Please call the library for availability. Chair Yoga with Bonnie (Ananda Yoga) on Fridays at 10am in September. On the 1st Monday of every month @ 2pm -a fun cardio drumming class hosted by PACE Your Life "Drums Alive". On the 2nd Tuesday, PACE Your Life will host a BINGO at 3pm. Grief support group with Latoya Harris, a Certified Community Health Worker on Saturday, September 27th @ 10am. Taekwondo, a kicking martial art, as well as general self defense for ages 10 on Fridays at 6pm starting August 29th. Got Your Back Self Defense, self-defense classes on Mondays in September (8th, 15th, 22nd, & 29th) at 5 - 6:30PM. Art Therapy Paint Night (this session is FULL) on Thursday, September 4th @ 6pm with "Paint with Ke". Prevention Program for MS and HS Ages on Tuesday, September 16th @ 4pm. Chair Fitness with Bree starting on Monday, September 8th through October 27th @ 9:30am (No class on September 1st). Mobile Health Unit will be in the parking lot on Tuesday, September 9th from 10am-3pm. The Mental Health Association in Delaware will present a QPR Training (QPR is a suicide prevention program) on Tuesday, September 9th @ 5pm. Visit the library to sign up or scan the QR code. Calm within the Chaos: Hypnosis for Stress & Anxiety on Saturday, September 27th @ 12:30pm. Registration is required. Let's Talk: Life (for tweens and teens), Thursday, September 11th @ 4pm.

Family Programs

If you haven't registered already for the Community Bridge to Wellness, please visit the library. Our self-led walking groups are starting Wednesday, April 23rd. Meet in the parking lot and walk the Hometown trail. Join us for our September Family Fun Night at T.S. Children's Programs

Bring your child to the library on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month @11am to read to the L.E.A.P. dog, Oliver.. We are excited to invite Ms. Taylor to our library for "Feelings Rock", a 30 minute social-emotional music and movement class for children newborn to 5 years and their caregivers. She will be helping kids move, learn, and grow on the 4th Wednesday of every month @ 9am starting in August through November. ---Tumbling Classes are FULL---In partnership with Bayside Athletics, our library is hosting 6 free sessions of tumbling classes to be held Wednesdays at 5pm August 27th through October 1st. Classes are designed to teach kids ages 9 & under. Tumbling skills will include handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, back handsprings, & more. Classes are consecutive and will be limited to 10 children. Parents: to register your child for all the sessions, please call 302-337-7401 ext. 101. There are no online registrations. Join Ms. Hilary on Tuesdays @ 10am for stories, songs, and rhymes about the A, B, C's and 1, 2, 3 in September. The first Tuesday of each month (September 2nd), it will be held at the Seaford Chick-Fil-A @ 10am and is for all ages. Story Book Corner for birth-2 "Little Acorns" will be held on Wednesdays @ 9am in the library. Enjoy dancing, swaying, or just observing at this time of movement, rhythm, and fun. Ms. Hilary will model some songs, rhymes, finger plays, and bounces to use at home. This will stimulate early learning to foster early literacy skills and develop a lifelong love of books. Reading to baby can support their social and emotional development. ---Library Learners League is FULL---Join Ms. Hilary for an educational experience on Thursday, September 11th @11am. We will focus on 3 different ancient civilizations and learn well-known facts and history. You will make a craft that is associated with each location. Registration is required. Join us with Ms. Hilary for songs, stories, and rhymes about the A, B, C’s and 1, 2, 3, followed by a fun brunch on Saturday, September 20th @ 10am! Registration is required. Join Ms. Miranda for a fun interactive Book Club on Thursday, August 28th at 3:30pm. This month's book is Swindle by Gordon Korman.  Several copies of the book are reserved at the library. It is also available on the Libby App. Registration is preferred. Do you love discussing your favorite Anime and Manga series, and discovering new ones? Then our Anime & Manga Club is the place for you! Join Ms. Hilary on Thursday, August 28th @ 4pm. Watch anime together, vote on what to watch next! Join us on Wednesday, September 3rd @ 4pm for a Social Media Awareness session on being safe online (geared for Middle and High School ages). Learn about being aware of what you put online. Bring some friends! Join our certified Community Health Workers from Tank Mentality for a "Think Tank- Let's Talk: Life" for teens and tweens (ages 10-17) on Thursday, September 11th @ 4pm. Let’s talk about life as a teen: friendships, school, family, anxiety, or social media. Snacks will be provided. Join Lisa from Courageous Hearts, LLC on Tuesday, September 16th @ 4pm for a prevention program geared for middle and high school ages. She will be presenting age-appropriate lessons and conversations concerning prescription medications. Registrations are preferred but walk-ins are welcome.

Rain Barrel Program

The Nanticoke Watershed Alliance will have a hands-on rain barrel workshop at the Bridgeville Library on Thursday, October 2nd from 5-6pm. You can take home a free rain barrel IF you are a Delaware resident who resides in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
