Board of Trustees: Applications Being Accepted

Our Board of Trustees is seeking applicants for a five-year term on the board. Interested parties need to submit a letter and resume to the Bridgeville Public Library by June 7, 2024. Applicants must be a resident of the Woodbridge School District, preferably within the Bridgeville post office service area. Meetings are normally held on the third Wednesday of the month at 9:30am, which are open to the public.

Jumpin' June Jamboree

Our Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party will be Saturday, June 1st from 10am-2pm at Passwaters Park (behind the library). We will have the Summer Reading Program Registration & Prize Wheel, FREE hot dog lunch for each child, Cascading Carlos-@11:30am, 12:30pm & 1:30pm, Obstacle Course & Bouncy Houses, Coloring Contest (sheets available online or at library), Music by DJ John, Photo Op Area, Bake Sale Table, The Hometown Harvest Food Trailer, Petting Zoo, Activities & Crafts, and Vendors.

Children's Programs

Join Ms. Hilary for Story Book Corner on Tuesdays (geared for ages 3-5) and on Wednesdays (for birth-2) both held at 10am at the library. For May, the theme is animals. Bring your child to the library on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month @11am to read to these sweet dogs. The goal of the Literacy Education Assistance Pups is to improve the literacy skills of children and grow their enthusiasm for reading. We are so happy to have them back at the library!

Adult Programs

Join us on Tuesday, June 4th @ 6pm to create a “beachy” Mason Jar decor! We will provide the jars, shells, paint, sand, and twine. Registration is required. Join us to discuss the book "The Villa" by Rachel Hawkins and enjoy a variety of Italian Cuisine. The book is available on the Libby app. Registration is required. Yoga classes with Bonnie Russell will be held on Wednesdays at 6pm through May in the meeting room at the library. They are open to all ages and levels on a first-come, first-served basis. You must bring your own mat. These classes are free and open to the public.

-Ran'D Shine- Thursday, June 27th at 5pm for an entertaining and engaging magic and comedy show! Magician & Comedian Ran’D Shine is known for performing "Real Magic for Real People." -Jungle John Reptile Show-Saturday, June 29th @ 2pm. Jungle John always draws a large crowd with his amazing reptiles. -Meadow Perry Bubble Magician-Tuesday, July 2nd @ 11am. She creates breathtakingly, beautiful magic out of thin air with bubbles!! Special thanks to the Friends of the Bridgeville Library for funding the special programs above! -Jeff Hopkins, Storyteller- Tuesday, July 16th @ 2pm. Jeff is a storyteller, web series host, illustrator, and long-time advocate for the arts in education. He performs live drawing an storytelling shows across the country!

Concert in the Park

Join us for a Concert in the Park featuring Barren Creek Band on Saturday, June 29th from 6-8pm. There will be food trucks on site and limited chairs provided (consider bringing your own chair or blanket). The concert will be held at Passwaters Park (behind the library). For GPS-use 600 S. Cannon St. Bridgeville, DE. This event is brought to you by the Bridgeville Library, The Friends of the Bridgeville Library, and the Town of Bridgeville. IT is FREE to attend!

PACE Coffee Klatch-Knowledge is Power

Genealogy Sessions

The library is offering Genealogy Open Hour sessions during the Month of May. Do you need help researching your family history? Genealogist Alice Min and Tech Supervisor Rachel Lawson will be providing 1-hour consultations every Wednesday between 12-6pm. One hour slots are: 12pm-1pm, 2pm-3pm, and 4pm-5pm.
