Home School Network, Delaware Ratification Day

The Home School Network is a program for children grades Kindergarten - 5th grade. Join us as we celebrate “Ratification Day” for the State of Delaware. We will have activities to help us learn fun facts about the First State. Ms. Kathy will lead the activities for ages 4-7 years. Ms. Deb will lead the activities for ages 8-12 years. Registration is required by Saturday December 1st. Please contact the circulation desk at (302) 337-7401, ext. 101 to sign up.

Story Time

Story Time is at 11am for 3-6 year olds. Join Miss Kathy and see why “We’re Nuts About Reading!” as she reads autumn related stories each week. Flyers are available at the library with each week’s topic.

Caterpillar Clubhouse

Bring your Luv Bug to the Bridgeville Public Library on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am to participate in our early literacy lapsit program. The Caterpillar Clubhouse is a cradle to crayons program for your child age 3 months to 3 years.

Teen/Tween Movie Matinee

Beginning in September, we invite the teens and tweens to join us at the Bridgeville Library on the last Tuesday of each month from 3-5pm for a movie and light snack. All movies will be rated PG-13 or lower.

L.E.A.P. Dog Sessions

The Literacy Education Assistance Pups, L.E.A.P., will be at the Bridgeville Library on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 6-7pm. Come on in and read to the dogs. This program is free and open to all kids. Not all the dogs will be available at all the sessions. In November and December, the L.E.A.P. Dogs will join us on November 13th and 27th, and December 11th. On Tuesday November 13th, the LEAP. Dogs will join us off-site during our Family Fun Night at the Woodbridge High School FFA Barn. Come to each session and you can meet many of the dogs.

Build, Construct, Create - Ages 1-10 years

Beginning in September, join us on Thursdays for a fun learning experience for builders, ages 1-10 years old. We will host three age groups at separate times throughout the day. Participants will enjoy creating on our two Lego Duplo activity centers. Caregivers must supervise their builders. 10-10:45am for ages 1-3 years 11-11:45am for ages 4-6 years 5-5:45pm for ages 7-10 years

Free Library Gaming

Join us on Saturday December 1st from 11am-2pm, as “Small Town Gaming” offers an open arcade for the day. They will have XBox One, PS4, Wii U, Madden17, NBA2K17, COD: Infinite Warfare, Nintendoland, MarioKart, Card Games, and more. You may bring your own console if you would like to do so. This event is free, and open to ALL ages.

Sussex County 4-H Tech Club

The Sussex County 4-H Tech Club meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 5-6:30pm. Mr. Keith hosts the meeting at the Bridgeville Public Library. This is open to all current AND non-4H’ers grades 4-12. Learn how 3D printers work and how to use 3D CAD software to design objects that you can 3D print. Learn the basics of computer coding and we will learn to make computer games and other useful programs. Learn about electricity and electronics. We will make soldering and other projects.

Family Fun Night, "Snack Time With Santa"

Join us on Tuesday December 18th from 6-8pm at the library for “Snack Time with Santa” and special guest Mrs. Claus. We have a great night planned with music, snacks, photo opportunities, crafts, and fun. Light refreshments will be available. We encourage families to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the “Toys for Tots” drive. This program is free and open to the public; however, registration is required by Saturday December 15th.
