Fall in Love with your Library Quarter Auction Fundraiser

Join us for our Fall in Love with your Library Quarter Auction Fundraiser on Saturday, November 8th from 11am-1pm at the Bridgeville Library. Doors open at 10:30am. Auction begins at 11:30am. Pre-registration is required by November 1st by using the QR code in the FB event in the discussion, OR use the link in More Info OR email: [email protected]. ALL IN PADDLES: $35. REGULAR PADDLES: $10. ADDITIONAL PADDLES: $3. There will be door prizes and raffles. Lunch and refreshments for purchase. This event will sell out quickly and there will be NO walk-ins. All proceeds benefit the Bridgeville Library. Donations for this event are being collected now. If you would like to donate, please call the Bridgeville Library at (302)-337-7401 ext. 101 or stop in.

Harvest Moon Market Vendor Event

Join us to shop local for the holidays on Saturday, November 15th from 9am-2pm. Vendors include: Tupperware, Lofty Creations, PaperPie (Usborne), D & K Handmade Crafts, Seaside Cottage Creations, Pampered Chef, Ashiragemz Styles, Remi's Custom Loominations, Bree's Boutique, Heritage Shores Wood Working, All Things Pretty, Scentsy, Iron Sun Designs, The Simple Things In DE, Mary Kay, SawDust Junction, Rita's Whimsical Knick Knacks, BSB Pillows and Quilts, Knitted & Crochet items, My Honey’s Bees, Clovis Creations, Made From Scratch Baked Goods, and Friends Bake Sale. The Hometown Harvest Food Trailer will be there for purchase. We will have door prizes and basket raffles.

Community Bridge to Wellness

Throughout the year, join the Bridgeville Library for our wellness journey-promoting mental and physical health by providing many different programs for everyone. All programs are FREE and all are welcome! Please check the flyers for details. Self-led walking groups on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Community Health Worker- Please call the library for availability. A fun cardio drumming class hosted by PACE Your Life "Drums Alive" will be on the 1st and 2nd Monday in October @ 2pm. On the 2nd Tuesday, PACE Your Life will host a BINGO at 3pm. Grief support group with Latoya Harris, a Certified Community Health Worker on Friday, October 24th @ 4pm. Chair Fitness with Bree starting on Monday, September 8th through October 20th @ 9:30am. Yoga with Bonnie (Ananda Yoga) on Wednesdays @ 6pm from October 8th through December 10th. Join us on Thursday, December 18th from 6-8pm as we celebrate YOUR success with our Community Bridge to Wellness program. We will pull the winning tickets, enjoy a light healthy meal, and share our future programming. Registration is required.

Family Programs

If you haven't registered already for the Community Bridge to Wellness, please visit the library. Our self-led walking groups are through Wednesday, November 20th. Join us for our annual Family Fun Night "Perfect Pumpkin Party" on Thursday, October 16th from 6-8pm. Each child will receive a pumpkin to decorate. We will have games and treats too. Registration is required. If signing up online, please put the number of children attending in the Notes Registration Form.

Children's Programs

Bring your child to the library on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month @11am to read to the L.E.A.P. dog, Oliver. We are excited to invite Ms. Taylor to our library for "Feelings Rock", a 30 minute social-emotional music and movement class for children newborn to 5 years and their caregivers. She will be helping kids move, learn, and grow every month @ 9am starting in August through November (see flyer for dates). Join Ms. Hilary on Tuesdays @ 10am for stories, songs, and rhymes about Fall on October. Story Book Corner for "Little Acorns" will be held on Wednesdays @ 9am in the library. Enjoy dancing, swaying, or just observing at this time of movement, rhythm, and fun. Ms. Hilary will model some songs, rhymes, finger plays, and bounces to use at home. This will stimulate early learning to foster early literacy skills and develop a lifelong love of books. Reading to baby can support their social and emotional development. Open to all ages! Join Delaware Sea Grant as we investigate aquatic animal adaptations on Thursday, November 13th @ 11am. The session will begin with an introduction to Delaware’s aquatic habitats, and how plants and animals survive in these amazing environments. Participants will rotate through stations, make observations about different animal adaptations, and get an up-close look at some live animals found in the Delaware Bay. Registration is required.

Adult Programs

Chair Fitness with Bree will be on Mondays @ 9:30am through October 20th. Every 2nd and 4th Friday from 3-5pm you can play Mahjong. We are looking for beginners to experienced players to learn or play the game of Mahjong! We will have 2 boards available or you may bring your own board/racks and cards/tiles to play, if you wish. Registration is required. Join us on Saturday, October 18th from 11am-1pm as we discuss the book selection “The Mountains Sing” by Nguy?n Phan Qu? Mai, and enjoy a variety of Vietnamese inspired cuisine. Several copies are on reserve in the library and it is available on Hoopla and Libby apps. Registration is required. Yoga with Bonnie (Ananda Yoga) will be held on Wednesdays @ 6pm from October 8th through December 10th. Drums Alive with PACE Your Life will be held on the 1st AND 2nd Monday, (October 6th and 13th) @ 2pm. (Please note: The library is closed on the 13th, but Drums Alive will be held in the meeting room). PACE Your Life is hosting a BINGO on the 2nd Tuesday of every month (October 14th @ 3pm).

Tween/Teen Programs

We are forming a new club of young artists (tweens and teens) that would like to meet with other artists and share their works of art, possibly leading to learning new skills and crafts. Join Ms. Hilary for this new "get together" on Wednesday, October 22nd at 2pm. Bring a friend and your creations to the library. Registration is preferred. Join Ms. Miranda for a fun interactive Book Club on Thursday, October 30th at 3:30pm. This month's book is Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Several copies of the book are reserved at the library. It is also available on the Libby App. Registration is preferred. Do you love discussing your favorite Anime and Manga series, and discovering new ones? Then our Anime & Manga Club is the place for you! Join Ms. Hilary on Thursday, October 23rd @ 4pm. Watch anime together, vote on what to watch next! Join us on Saturday, November 1st from 10am-5pm for the Extra Life Fundraiser and FREE Gaming with Small Town Gaming. Extra Life is a fundraising program of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®. The Extra Life community fundraises year-round to Change Kids’ Health to Change the Future. Donations go to local member hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, and child life services.
