Community Bridge to Wellness
Community Bridge to Wellness is back! Join us at the library with Bonnie (from Ananda Yoga) for Gentle Yoga on Wednesdays @ 6pm starting August 5th through September 23rd. These classes are open to all ages and levels, and are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Beginners are welcome! Please bring your own mat. These classes are brought to you by the Sussex County Health Coalition. Join us for our 2nd annual Besties Brunch on Saturday, August 22nd from 10am-1pm as we pamper ourselves and introduce you to local businesses that offer wellness & personal products: Arbonne & Loft Pilates-health & wellness products - pilates class; Gambrell F.I.T-stretch therapy; Grit & Grace-permanent jewelry; Little Wagon Produce-fresh fruit-flowers-honey; ThistleStop Cottage Bakery-sourdough - baked goods - gluten free options; UnPlugged Forest-sound bath - eucalyptus; Juice Plus+ - plant nutrition- certified health coach. MENU: Peachy Mocktails, Fresh Garden Salad w/Chicken Salad, Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream. THIS EVENT IS FULL! Join us on Saturdays @ 10am starting September 19th through November 7th (excluding October 10th) for grief support sessions to discuss how to handle the grief you may be experiencing. Each session will focus on listening and empathy. The facilitators will guide you to find comfort and adapt to life after loss. These sessions will be facilitated by Community Health Workers Latoya Harris and Kaytra MacDonald. Registration is preferred. These sessions are brought to you by a grant from The Delaware Behavioral Health Consortium.

Children's Programs
Bring your child to the library on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month @11am to read to these sweet dogs, Oliver and Penny. The goal of the Literacy Education Assistance Pups (L.E.A.P.) is to improve the literacy skills of children and grow their enthusiasm for reading. Children in grades 1 through 6 are invited to join us at the library with Bonnie (from Ananda Yoga) for a "Calm Child Yoga" on 3 separate Saturdays (August 1st, 8th and 15th) from 12-1pm. Bonnie is a yoga therapist and instructor who can help your child improve their focus, concentration, and listening skills for the upcoming school year. Registration is required. Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by their parent. These are 3 separate classes, so be sure to specify if you want to be on all three lists (for online, you must go to each date and register). Please bring your own mat.

Join us on Wednesday, September 9th from 11am-1pm as we discuss our book selection “Still Life in Blood” with the author Crystal Heidel and enjoy a variety of local cuisine. registration is required. This book is only available in print. Do you need help researching your family history? The Bridgeville Library is offering two beginner genealogy workshops: Monday, September 14th from 10am-12pm or Monday, September 21st from 5:30-7:30pm. It will be a presentation with Alice Min. She will share an informational PowerPoint and you will take home a packet to help you get started on your genealogy. Registration is required.

Tween/Teen Programs
Join us on Thursday, August 13th @ 10am for "Land & Soil in the Ecosystem". A Delaware Farm Bureau representative will be at the library to introduce their connection to agriculture and teach a “Land and Soil in the Ecosystem” lesson. The students will then plant seeds and learn how to care for them at home. Registration is required. Join Delaware hydrogeologists on Thursday, August 27th @ 11am to learn about Delaware’s Geology and geologic history. Students will also spend time discussing and looking at some of the fossils of Delaware and the MidAtlantic region. Registration is required. NeshiCon 2026 will be held at the Seaford Library on Saturday, August 29th from 11am-4pm. This year’s theme is “Legends Never Die”. There will be a Cosplay competition hosted by Instagram Influencer SkywingKnights, retro gaming consoles available to play, a SMASH Tournament hosted by Small Town Gaming Entertainment, Gaming & Anime Trivia, vendors and a food truck.
